ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS
Offender Services Bureau

The Offender Services Bureau has responsibility and oversight in the following areas:

Inmate Time Computations-assessing release dates in accordance with the statutes under which the inmate was sentenced. Re-assessing release dates if there is a change in the inmate's earning status.

Inmate Records-Maintains master records on all inmates incarcerated and released.

Public Access-Responds to requests from the public for inmate information. Prepares inmate files for public view.

Victim Notification-Provides notification to registered victim both in writing and via the automated telephone system (VINE) upon release, escape or death. Victims are also notified if an inmate on supervision is re-incarcerated. Also, provides requested information to victims regarding the inmate's incarceration.

Inmate Classification and Movement-Final approval on risk assessment of security and custody and placement of the inmate. Scheduling of inmate transfers and intake from the County Jails. Maintains accountability of prison beds, bed use and prepares the Official Daily Count Sheet for the Department.

Inmate Interstate Correctional Compact-Coordinates the transfer of inmates between Compact states. Tracks inmates involved in the Interstae Correctional Compact program. Liaison for inmates and their families when the inmate is housed in another state.

U.S. Treaty Transfers-Submits U.S. Treaty Application Packets to the Directors. Forwards approved transfers to the US Department of Justice. Tracks inmates involved in the transfer process.
